Mould making UWI staff sick

SOME STAFF MEMBERS at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) believe the environment there is making them sick.

According to a source, a recent study done at the campus revealed that the air quality was extremely poor in some areas and was not suited for people to be working there.

This, the source said, was as a result of mould growing in some classrooms.

The SATURDAY SUN understands that in one instance an employee had developed asthma as a result of being exposed to the mould, while several colleagues and students had reportedly fallen ill due to the unhealthy environment. (RB)
