THE BARBADOS Meterological Office is warning of higher than usual tides over the next couple days.
The strong surface level winds, which are typical around December, have caused senior meteorologist Clairmonte Williams to warn beach users about the development.
A lifeguard operating at Browne’s Beach, Bay Street, St Michael, who did not want to be identified, said that around 12:50 p.m. on Tuesday, he had to help a stunned and surprised tourist who had been knocked over by a wave.
“He is good; not like he [ingested] water or anything but he is just a little surprised. He really got slam-dunked by the wave,” the beach ranger said from the tower. (MR)
