Three the record way

THREE SWIMMERS SET records on the penultimate day of the Powerade Barbados Olympic Association’s Independence Short Course National Championships at the Aquatic Centre on Saturday.

Nkosi Dunwoody, Ashley Weekes and Rebecca Lashley all set marks in the 200 metres breaststroke.

In the 13-14 division, Dunwoody produced an outstanding swim to clock 2 minutes, 26.63 seconds, erasing Luis Sebastian Weekes’ 2014 mark of 2.27.79.

Dunwoody’s teammate at Alpha Swim Club, Keon Jessamy, captured second place in 3:03.94.

Thirteen-year-old Weekes of Pirates Swim Club clocked 2 minutes, 49.01 seconds, surpassing Lashley’s 2015 record of 2: 49.18 in the 13-14 division.

Second was Angelique Minors of Grenfin Swim Club of Jamaica in 2:56.73 and third was Britney McCollin in 3:29.78. (RG)
