A FIREARM and several rounds of ammunition were seized during a police operation at Akademiks Sports Bar, Regent Hill, Pine, St Michael.
According to police, one firearm, 34 rounds of ammunition, two magazines, a firearm cleaning kit, and 2.07 ounces of cannabis were seized during an unauthorised fete at the venue.
No one was held for those offences.
However, 20-year-old Darius Anthony Perch of Regent Hill was arrested for being in possession of seven grams of cannabis. Charges are pending and he is expected to appear in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police are also appealing to members of the public for assistance in the fight to rid the streets of illegal firearms. They can use any of the anonymous means of reporting, including Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). (PR/SAT)
