THIS YULETIDE SEASON the Sterling Children’s Home in St Philip is set for a pop of colour.
During yesterday’s launch of “Winning for Kids”, the Christmas initiative at Standard Distributors Wildey, St Michael, Chief Executive Officer Katrina Newton told the media teams from the Nation Publishing, Starcom Network Inc., Standard Distributors and the Child Care Board would be involved in the project.
The 21-room residence in St Philip is home to 12 children ranging from as young as six months-old to pre-teens and teenagers ages 12 and 14.
Starcom’s Alison Roach-Plummer (right), who is also an organiser of the project, said the focus was to brighten the lives of the young residents of the house.
She said they would not only be challenging themselves to get the project done in a mere two days, Standard would also be delivering gift to the children on December 10 and 11.
Newton added they wanted everyone to be involved in the give-back project.
“As a retailer it is so easy to get caught up in the hustle, the bustle and that is all important, but there is a human side forgotten in that madness,” she said. (MR)
