Drax Hall folk fed up

POLITICIANS from both sides of the fence have come in for criticism over the state of roads at Drax Hall Woods, St George.

And Tuesday’s heavy rainfall has unearthed more frustration among the residents who are now throwing their hands in the air vowing not to involve themselves in the political process anymore.

For as long as she could remember, Velsie Padmore said representatives from both political parties had made promises about fixing the lone road that leads into her community, but said their cries had fallen on deaf ears.

“It seems like we are monkeys because nobody ain’t making no effort to fix it,” Padmore said as she recalled how Tuesday’s water flooded the road and made it difficult for travel. (TSG)
