School head says it’s sabotage

WHILE ACKNOWLEDGING THAT the Combermere School was battling several environmental issues, principal Vere Parris strongly believes that some of the problems encountered were as a result of the school being sabotaged.

Classes at the school were suspended indefinitely last week with officials promising to do all they can to rectify the problems.

Speaking during a meeting at the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic last night to update parents, Parris said they had discovered a septic tank which had been deliberately left open.

“Someone deliberately opened a septic tank and left it in a cocked position, therefore allowing septic gases to flow from that septic tank into surrounding areas; areas that have been complained about by teachers and students.” (RB)
