PAN AMERICAN International Insurance Warrens have retained the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 women’s volleyball crown.

Playing at the Kensington Bond, Warrens overcame a stuttering start to defeat Phoenix Protection Services Carlton 21-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-16 to win the crown with two games in hand on Wednesday night.

The victory carried Warrens to an unassailable 40 points, having won their eight games. If Warrens do not play their remaining two games the best any other team can do would be Burger King Clapham Toners winning their next two matches to finish on 39 points, one shy of Warrens.

Warrens, who won their first league crown in 2012, have presented former national captain and double Caribbean MVP Anthazia Mason with the enviable record of winning Division 1 league crowns with Toners, Deacons and Chargers. (KB)
