A ST JAMES MAN has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and told the court he was left “deeply shaken and had many sleepless nights” because of the fatal accident.
Michael Erwin Worrell, 43, of Apes Hill Tenantry Road, was speaking before the No.2 Supreme Court last week. He apologised to the family of the deceased man, revealing that he had to seek psychiatric help in order to cope.
The accident, in which Wendell Williams lost his life, occurred on October 10, 2010. The court heard that Williams, along with two other men, were pushing a truck along the Arch Hall section of the Ronald Mapp Highway when Worrell’s car crashed into them.
In a presentencing report, Worrell was described by his father as being a “quiet individual contented with the simple things in life and did not argue over trivial matters”. (TKS)
