TRINIDADIAN SIMONE DELZIN has been awarded the Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship for 2016.
The 22-year-old who is pursuing a double major in biology and psychology at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, won from a field of nine, which included three other women.
She expected to take up the scholarship at Oxford University where she has applied for the masters in medical anthropology. The programme starts in September 2017.
The award was presented by chairman of the selection committee Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave at his official residence, Government House, this afternoon. (YB)
