MORE NEEDS TO be done outside of the National Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA) to develop the talents of local actors.

Even though the benefits of theatre are clear, acting Education Officer in Reading and Literacy, Janelle Little, said that another platform to expose interested practitioners was needed.

She was speaking Thursday afternoon at a Prose and Poetry session for staff from the Ministry of Education, and students and teachers of secondary and primary schools.

Little said she found that some people just wanted to share their work without being judged but still operating in a competitive environment.

“Exposure to the arts for young persons can help to develop their creativity and imagination and it could really help in their writing and reading,” she explained. (MR)
