BRIDGETOWN – The young students of Welches Primary School now have access to cutting-edge multimedia thanks to leading telecommunications provider Flow.
As part of the company’s Mission Day, which was celebrated on Wednesday throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, Flow presented three flat screen televisions to their youthful neighbours under the theme Connecting Communities…Transforming Lives.
“For more than a century, our company has been connecting Barbadian communities and a core element of our annual Mission Day is to give back to those very same communities we serve,” said Niall Sheehy, Managing Director, Flow Barbados.
“When we launched Flow in Barbados last year, we adopted Welches Primary School based on their close proximity to our corporate offices in Warrens, so beyond Mission Day we try to engage the school with a view to encouraging the young students to strive for excellence.
“While our mission is Connecting Communities…Transforming Lives, we are also guided by four core values that speak to being the best we can be, respecting and trusting each other, working as one team and serving our customers with passion,” added Sheehy.
“While we strive to live out our mission and values each day, opportunities such as Mission Day allow us to refocus our efforts to benefit our of company, community and country.”
Continuing its Mission Day celebrations, Flow recently joined forces with the Caribbean Youth Environment Network to remove more than two hundred pounds of garbage from Pile Bay, while later this month, members of the Flow Sports and Social Club will host a reading session at Welches Primary.
Cable & Wireless Communications, the parent company of Flow and C&W Business, has more than 7 300 employees serving 6.4 million customers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. (PR)
