SPRINGER MEMORIAL SCHOOL sixth form student Leanne Toppin putting up a strong argument against home-schooling when the controversial topic was debated by the Senior Parliament at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus yesterday.

Toppin argued before “Speaker” Hamilton Lashley and his entire “House”, contending that home-schooling robbed children of the opportunity to be well socialised, while not giving them the chance to make decisions that would impact their lives. She pummelled adults for what she termed their continuing disregard for what children really wanted. (GC)
