A NUMBER OF people had an opportunity to view what Barbados’ youth could offer when the Barbados Youth Development Council (BYDC) held its Youth Expo at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday.

About 12 businesses and service organisations including the Barbados Association of Muslim Ladies, the Barbados Council for the Disabled, Caribbean Youth Environment Network, United Youth Leaders of Barbados, the CARICOM Youth Ambassadors Programme and Junior Chambers International (JCI) Barbados were present to show off their work.

Among the topics under discussion were voluntarism, violence in schools and peer pressure.

The turnout was low during the earlier hours of the day, but BYDC president Kimberley Norville remained hopeful that it would improve. (TG)
