A DECISION TO APPROVE construction of a new B’s Recycling Facility at Bennetts, St Thomas, has been made by Prime Minister, Freundel Stuart in his capacity as the minister responsible for town planning and development.

Stuart overruled the Chief Town Planner’s original denial of the project, which is yet to get off the ground.

Stuart’s approval for construction of the proposed business came on November 3, 2014, less than a year after B’s Recycling’s Cane Garden, St Thomas facility closed after a potentially dangerous fire there on March 25, 2013.

The fire, which burnt for almost a week, led to civil action in the Supreme Court by residents of nearby Reece Road, Cane Garden area, and the facility has been closed ever since. (BA)
