Jordan grabs three medals in Vancouver

MERLE JORDAN, one of Barbados’ top masters athletes, is on a high after capturing two golds and a silver at the 2016 Americas Masters Games in Vancouver, Canada.

Jordan, who competed in the 50-55 age group, captured gold medals in the long jump and the 4×100 metres relay where she teamed up with two Canadians and an American.

The former Springer Memorial student also collected a silver in the women’s 4×400 metres relay.

Jordan, who turns 55 next week, told the DAILY NATION, she soaked in the atmosphere of the games, which attracted 17 000 athletes competing in 26 disciplines. (MK)
