College help on way for the blind

READING MATERIAL for the blind and visually impaired attending colleges and universities may soon be available for Barbadian students.  

 This is through efforts by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Barbados.

While making a presentation of Victor Reader Stream systems to students of the Irving Wilson School over the weekend, Ronald Gardner, leader of the church delegation from Utah who did a two-week training programme here, said: “It is critical that students who want to go to college or want to graduate from university that they have their text books available . . . . We have been discussing a future step that may make it possible for textbooks here in Barbados and the Caribbean.” (LK)
