Omar gets cracking

Omar Phillips has found things tough this season, but the experienced Brathwaite Construction/ Crane Resort St Catherine captain came good yesterday.

In a welcome return to form, the left-handed Phillips struck 100 not out to anchor St Catherine to a fighting total of 210 for eight declared against Police on the first day of their sixth-round Barbados Cricket Association Elite Division match at Weymouth.

It was only the seventh century of a season in which batsmen have struggled for the most part. (HG)
