THE DEPARTMENT of Emergency Management (DEM) is asking all businesses in Barbados to close by 6 p.m. today as the island continues preparations for an approaching weather system.
With rain, thunderstorms, heavy winds and flooding expected in some areas, the DEM is advising all businesses, including gas stations to close earlier.
Additionally, the Transport Board will cease operating at 8 p.m.
All schools should be closed by 3 p.m. and will remain closed tomorrow.
The DEM advises all residents to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their property. (PR/SAT)
