‘Free up the weed’ for crime’s sake

TO LEGALISE MARIJUANA in Barbados would mean a decrease in drug-related crimes.

Herbal advocate Horace Green is convinced that prohibition, selfishly and hypocritically imposed on any society, breeds rebellion.

While delivering a lecture titled Climate Change, Food Preservation And Herbs recently at Divi Southwinds Resort, St Lawrence, Green was not hopeful legalisation would happen any time soon.

He contended that legalisation of the drug would result in competition and possibly lost profits to the “white man’s business” of tobacco and the tobacco giants would not allow this to happen.   (SDB Media)
