A PRIEST and a social champion have put a match to calls for the legislation to be changed to decriminalise marijuana or to allow the drug to be grown for research purposes.
In fact, the social champion, whose work brings him into contact with young people, said they cannot handle marijuana because “the youth of today head isn’t on as before”.
The comments, from Pastor Vincent Wood of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, and president of the Barbados Homeless and Vagrants Society, Kemar Saffrey, came in the wake of a call by pro vice chancellor at the Cave Hill Campus, Professor Alan Cobley, for a change in the laws to allow the university to grow marijuana for research purposes.
