A SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR at the University of the West Indies wants the laws changed so the university could grow marijuana at its College Land, St John project.
A change in the current legislation, said pro vice chancellor Professor Alan Cobley, would be part of the “supporting environment” to allow research into the medicinal properties of the illegal drug.
Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite told the WEEKEND NATION that if UWI officials wanted the laws changed, they should submit their proposals to the Ministry of Home Affairs.
