Don’t blame me!

STOP BLAMING POLITICIANS for the crime situation in the island.

Instead, said Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite, blame the mothers who ignored their sons when they were going wrong, blame the education system for shuttling out children who were consistently underperforming, and blame the declining values system.

The minister, who is responsible for the police and prisons, was speaking at a meeting of the Democratic Labour Party’s St James South branch at the constituency office last night.

As he redirected the blame back on to those who have been calling for stiffer penalties for gun crimes and the resumption of hangings for murder, Brathwaite told Donville Inniss’ constituents that he was convinced the problem children of today were “pushed through the education system and no one took the time to work out what issues they had”.
