Champ snubbed

RONDA BROWNE survived a car accident and defied pain to compete at the nationals so that she could have a shot at representing her country at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships.

Now, after being crowned Miss Barbados women’s physique champion, Browne has not only been ignored by the selection panel, but was not even notified that she was being bypassed for the September 29 to October 2 championships slated for Santo Domingo.

“It really hurt me to have to read it in the newspaper for the first time. I think it was disrespectful. The federation should have had the courtesy to let me know the position.

“It is unfortunate they feel that none of the girls was up to the standard required to be competitive. . .” (MK)
