Pastor: Get tough with gun-toting youths

AN OUTSPOKEN PASTOR is calling on the authorities to enforce the tough gun laws.

Rev. Dr David Durant, – whose Restoration Ministries Church is in Brittons Hill, St Michael, an area that has seen its share of gunplay in recent months – said yesterday that “too much lawlessness is [prevailing] in our city”.

“The last week we had some Wild West scenes in this island you wouldn’t believe. We have to be concerned about the youths . . . . To hear that a man is shot about five times or more and then somebody come out the car one more time and pump three more bullets, that’s a Wild West situation,” he said. (YB)
