Karate club does well at tourney

AN OVER 5 000 MILE trip has brought Barbados great fortune.

Three members of the Ursaline Convent Karate Club Martial Arts captured two gold and two bronze medals at the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) World Tournament in Cape Town, South Africa.

In the 8-9 category for kumite purple belts and kata, Tajei Greenidge captured gold and bronze respectively.

Tabu Lall Kissoon won her second gold for Barbados in the 14-15 kumite final but narrowly missed out on a medal in the Kata category while Michael Hall won bronze in the 10-11 kata category.  (RG)
