And while reaction to the move was swift on some social media platforms, officials of the state agency are promising to go as far as posting the faces of the delinquents on its website in an effort to recoup the millions of dollars it is owed.
Yesterday, the fund took out a full page ad in both sections of the print media exhorting those who owed to “help us help other deserving Barbadians”.
“For 40 years, the Student Revolving Loan Fund has been offering affordable financing for Barbadians to pursue higher education. The [fund] is hoping to be around for another 40 years to continue to provide financing for future generations,” it wrote as it urged those who owe to contact its offices. (HLE)
