THE BAJAN GEMS are bound for the AFNA Youth World Cup in Botswana next year after scoring a tournament high 91-9 victory over hapless Argentina in the qualifiers last night.

Barbados should chalk up their fifth successive win tonight when they play St Maarten before meeting Trinidad & Tobago tomorrow in a game that should determine who qualify as the top team. Grenada seemed on course to take the third qualifying spot with a surprisingly facile 44-18 victory over St Kitts/Nevis yesterday.

T&T had also crushed Argentina, dismissing them 87-4. Barbados started their game with a number of reserves, with Shaquilla Davis playing goal attack and captain Sheniqua Thomas in the goal shooter role.

Jamie Drayton and Shonte Seale held the defence circle, while Rashida Chase played centre with Vanessa Bobb at wing attack and Sade Browne running wing defence.
