Managers ‘at fault’

THERE ARE TOO MANY highly paid people in management at statutory corporations across Barbados who are doing a terrible job of managing those institutions, and taxpayers are footing the bill for their errors.

The indictment was levelled by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler during his wrap-up to the 2016 Budget which ended in the early hours of yesterday morning in the House of Assembly.

Sinckler said some of his biggest headaches did not come from management of resources and expenditure in Central Government, but from the long list of statutory corporations that were not managed properly even though many in the management teams were highly paid individuals making more money than most Members of Parliament.
