Inniss: Opposition playing race card

IN A NO-HOLDS-BARRED ATTACK, a senior Government minister has accused opposition members of targeting white Barbadians, scaring off investors and spreading untruths about the soon-to-be started Hyatt project.

Donville Inniss, Minister of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, launched his scathing attack on Barbados Labour Party members as the Budget Debate continued yesterday afternoon.

He accused the opposition of targeting businessman Mark Maloney and some other “white people” in this country.

“They are investors and when you pursue them so vehemently and so erroneously you are also scaring off black investors as well, you are scaring off Indian investors and Chinese investors because you are giving the impression that Barbados is not a society that welcomes investment, domestic, regional or international,” he warned.
