Let there be light!

WITH WORK to restore light to the previously darkened ABC Highway in progress, president of the Barbados Road Safety Association Charmaine Roland-Bowen has given the project the thumbs up.

But Roland-Bowen has renewed her call for motorists to show caution even with the enhanced lighting.

“We do want to commend them for their response in repairing the lights along this stretch,” she said.

“We greatly believe that would enhance the safety of motorists in that area, but still we need to make an appeal to them to slow down.”

The BRSA head said that the organisation would still like to see the Jersey barriers along the road marked with reflective tape because the fixed lights along the road did not mean they were going to hold up forever. (AD)
