Starcom take bragging rights

THE Guyana Warriors were quite mouthy going into the Starcom Network T25 Celebrity cricket match but the Starcom Network and Nation Publishing Conquering Lions silenced them on Saturday night.

Thousands of spectators swarmed the Courtney Browne and Luther King Pavilion at Hoytes Village, St James, to witness the battle between “Barbados” and “Guyana” that coincided with the 50th year of Independence of both countries.

“It was a very special occasion. We wanted to do something like this for a little while and I am very glad to have had Starcom come to work with me and other organisations and sponsors,” Minister of Parliament for St James Central Kerrie Symmons told NATIONSPORT.

“It was a fantastic event. I suspect we may have had about 6 000 people.” (RG)
