MINISTER OF LABOUR Senator Dr Esther Byer Suckoo has defended the Social Partnership agreement describing it as a model that works.
And she has revealed a new social partnership will be signed this year which will focus more on social and economic challenges.
Her comments were made yesterday during a function held at the Hilton Barbados Resort, Needham’s Point, St Michael for the handing over of the chairmanship of the Barbados Private Sector Association (BPSA).
Actuarial consultant Charles Herbert took over as chairman from businessman Alex McDonald from the beginning of this month.
Speaking at that ceremony attended by representatives of the public and private sectors, as well as the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB), Byer Suckoo made a call for unity. (SDB Media)
