A WARNING is being sent to Government and the developers of world-acclaimed brand Hyatt who plan to soon begin construction of a multi-storey hotel on Browne’s Beach.
“We are going to lead a movement over the next few weeks to resist this effort to take a national beach that is most beloved and embraced by the masses of black working class people of Barbados.
“The beach that is reputed to be one of the seven most beautiful beaches in the entire world, that we are going to lead a campaign to say that we are going to fight for the national sovereignty of our country,” founder of the Clement Payne Movement David Comissiong announced during Emancipation Day celebrations at the Emancipation Statue, Haggatt Hall, St Michael, this morning.
Last Tuesday an agreement for the construction of the project, which is expected to cost US$100 million, was signed.(RB)
