ST JOHN’S – West Indies were 90 for three at lunch on the third day of the first cricket Test at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium here Saturday.

Play resumed from the overnight total of 31 for one overnight in reply to India’s first innings total of 566 for eight declared.

Opener Kraigg Brathwaite is unbeaten on 46 from 141 balls and has been joined by Marlon Samuels, who is yet to score after facing just three deliveries.

The West Indies lost the wickets of night watchman Devendra Bishoo for 12 and Darren Bravo for 11 while adding 59 runs in the two-hour morning session.

Bishoo was stumped by wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha, sweeping at leg-spinner Amit Mishra while Bravo edged seamer Mohammed Shami to Saha in the last over before the interval.

 Shami has taken two for 23 while Mishra has one for seven. (EZS)
