THE BARBADOS UNDER-17 football team received a much needed confidence booster last Sunday evening when they held off a courageous challenge from their St Lucian counterparts to win 2-1 at the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Wildey AstroTurf.
Barbados will depart for St Kitts & Nevis later this month for Round One action in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Qualifiers, where they will face the hosts, Dominica and Cuba.
After a 1-1 tie last week, the young Tridents displayed tenacity and willpower to earn their first international victory.
St Lucia enjoyed most of the possession in the first half, but Barbados created the better opportunities. (ROG)
