THIS MORNING – FRIDAY, June 17 – I ventured into our City to conduct some business and my mode of getting around was public transport, more specifically the PSVs operating from the River Terminal bus stand.
On reaching the terminal I was greeted by order and partial silence. No conductor hustling, no music blaring nor vans parked as they choose fit.
The reason: Ministry of Transport andWorks (MTW) official. Half-hour later, I returned and the complete opposite.
Notably, Silver Sands (route 11), Silver Hill (route 10), Airport (route 3D), all blockingthe exit of the terminal, conductors harassing John Public for adollar and, on top of that, the water which settles from the blessed rainfall making the journey as technical as a Latin dance competition.
My suggestion: place an outpost of the MTW office at all terminals to hinder this lawlessness. I refuse to accept it as culture.
