Coaches dropped

SWEEPING CHANGES have been made to the coaching staff of teams in the upcoming Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

WEEKEND NATION investigations have revealed that eight of the 12 coaches attached to the six franchises last season have been replaced for the June 29 to August 7 tournament.

Among those making way are former West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose, former West Indies captain Carl Hooper and former West Indies assistant coaches Hendy Springer and David Williams.

Contacted yesterday for the thinking behind the high number of changes, CPL head of public relations and communications Peter Breen explained that unlike previous seasons the franchises had been given the option of selecting their own team operations units. (HG)
