DISPLACED Division One netball queens CO Williams Rangers repeated their first round victory over nemesis Pine Hill Dairy St Barnabas 34-30 to make a strong bid for the runners-up spot when the senior action continued on Monday night at the Netball Stadium.
That win carried the Rangers to a 4/3 record and 23 points. St Barnabas who are now 4/4 with 24 points will end the second year in succession without capturing a Division One title.
St Barnabas can only blame their poor shooting as well as weak ball handling in mid court as their circle defence controlled by Shonette Bruce and Jeneice Clarke had looked like piloting a win over Rangers. Bruce with her strong jump and physical play denied Rangers any second chances from missed shots.
Even so, Rangers attempted 45 shots, one more than St Barnabas, but missed 11, three fewer than their opponents. (KB)
