Farm Lions taking on Heats for road tennis honours

THE FARM LIONS will battle Sauna Heats for a first prize of $5 000 when the fourth edition of De Village Camp Shotgun Road Tennis Championship climaxes at the Deighton “Pa” Roach facility in Bush Hall tonight.

The Lions calmly disposed of Punchers 4-2 in the semis while Heats needed world number one Mark “Venom” Griffith to take them into the finals after facing a 3-all tie against former champions Belfield All Whites boasting Julian “Michael Jackson” White.

Heats’ Michael “Mikey Jean” Jean’s come from behind win over Andrew “The Governor” Holder put pressure on All Whites while the affable Stig Merritt performed a similar act for the Lions by defeating opposing captain Terry “The Puncher” Dottin.

The losing finalists will collect $2 500 while the third placed team wins $1 500.  The action serves off at 7 p.m.
