LIAT employee in police custody

ST JOHN’S – management of LIAT has confirmed that one of its employees is in police custody in Barbados assisting law enforcement officers with investigations into a drug-related matter.

In a statement, the airline said the employee was taken into custody on Tuesday shortly after arrival at the Grantley Adams International Airport on a flight from St Lucia.

“The management of LIAT wishes to indicate its full support for, and cooperation with, law enforcement authorities in relation to any investigations where its cooperation is required,” the statement said. (PR)
