BCA pulls stumps

BARBADOS’ GOLDEN GIRLS on the triumphant West Indies Twenty20 cricket team won’t be going for more glory in Georgia.

That’s because they have been stumped by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA), which is unable to bankroll next month’s tour to the tune of over $60 000.

On Tuesday night, the BCA’s board of management pulled the stumps on the proposed trip to Atlanta to contest the sixth annual T20 tournament of the Georgia Cricket Association from May 24 to 29.

Had the BCA given the tour the green light, West Indies players Deandra Dottin, Hayley Matthews, Shamilia Connell, Shaquana Quintyne, Shakera Selman and twin sisters, Kycia and Kyshona Knight would have led the Barbados challenge.
