Stuart unmoved by Moody’s

DO NOT BE UNNERVED.

That was the message of Prime Minister Freundel Stuart to residents in the wake of the latest downgrade by international credit rating agency Moody’s.

He maintained that Government’s plan to stabilise the economy was working and the outlook for the country was good, telling supporters they should not get sidetracked.

“I am not unnerved by any of these happenings. We are restructuring the Barbados economy to make sure that in the future when things happen beyond Barbados’ shores . . . that Barbados will be better positioned to absorb these shocks and not be destabilised, as was the case on this occasion and previous occasions,” he said Sunday night at a Democratic Labour Party St Michael South branch meeting at The Bay Primary School.
