BUSINESS PLACES across Barbados that rely on the use of water daily have expressed mixed emotions a month after the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) implemented water restrictions.
Some car valets businesses and farmers have managed to keep their heads above water, while plant nurseries are still complaining about the drought that has affected the island most of this year.
Managing director at valet company Midas Magic, Michael Thorpe, said he had spoken to his staff after the implementation and they understood the role they needed to play.
“We had a meeting with the BWA and they understand our need to use water and have agreed to give us some relief. So far we have not been significantly impacted and have been managing okay,” he said. (RA)
