WATER OUTAGES CONTINUE to plague a number of Barbados Water Authority (BWA) customers with those at both Lammings, St Joseph, and White Hill, St Andrew, asking when they will get relief.
Residents in those districts said yesterday that this issue had been going on far too long. Charma Young, at home for the day with her niece and ten-month-old baby, said the situation had become overbearing.
“Sometimes the water goes off for two days straight, and usually comes back in the wee hours of the morning when everyone is asleep. Then it goes off again by 8 ’clock in the morning. We can’t wash or flush the toilets because we have no water and the tank in the neighbourhood is across at Mum’s supermarket at the junction,” she said.
Some residents have installed their own water tanks to overcome the hardships. One, who requested anonymity, said getting their own tank had become a necessity. (CA)
