Fourteen-year-old American Elizabeth Mandlik is celebrating as a double-crown champion following some riveting play-offs in the just concluded 2016 ITF/Barbados International Junior Tennis Tournament.

Mandlik, who came to Barbados with a world ranking of 431, defeated Stefania Rogozinska-Dzik of Poland in the singles final of the Under-18 girls’ division and then teamed with her to capture the doubles title at the National Tennis Centre yesterday.

Both 14-year-old finalists exhibited good shot-making from the baseline and played true to the draw during a competitive week of junior tennis.

Seeded No. 2, Mandlik played a clever game to upstage the top-seeded Rogozinska-Dzik 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 in sometimes blustery conditions.
