DON’T BE surprised if you see Shanique Myrie in Barbados sometime soon.

The 27-year-old Jamaican was thrown into the regional spotlight five years ago when she bravely brought, and won, a civil case against Barbados after she was subjected to a “dehumanising” body cavity search when she attempted to enter the island.

She now says she is willing to return despite that experience.

“Absolutely!” was her response when asked by the SUNDAY SUN during an email interview if she would ever come back. And she made it known that she would visit for the same reasons she came in the first place – “to experience the diversity, heritage, culture and glory of the Caribbean region”.
