TWO HUNDRED AND fifty pregnant women will receive mosquito nets as the fight against the spread of Zika continues.

Dr Godfrey Xuereb, Pan American Health Organisation/World Health Organisation Representative for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean presented the nets to Minister of Health John Boyce during a meeting at the Ministry of Health’s Culloden Road office.

Boyce said the number of suspected Zika cases stood at 323.

There were 12 cases confirmed by the Trinidad based Caribbean Public Health Agency, three of them pregnant women.

Boyce said the Ministry monitors the figures on a daily basis. (LK)
