Two charged in multi-million dollar drug bust

POLICE HAVE CHARGED two men in connection with Wednesday’s seizure of cocaine and cannabis at Carlisle Bay, St Michael.

They are Guyanese national Neville Hillary Phagu, 39 years and Barbadian Jeffrey Harrington Callender, 48, of Coral Land, Haggatt Hall, St Michael.

On Wednesday, police seized 122.9 kgs of cocaine and 94 kgs of cannabis during a drug operation. The value is in excess of $6 million.

They have been jointly charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis and trafficking cannabis.

Phagu was also charged with importation of both cannabis and cocaine.

Phagu and Callender are expected to appear at the District A Magistrates Court on Saturday. (PR/SAT)
