Residents: What smell?

WHATEVER IS affecting the Lawrence T. Gay Primary School appears to be isolated only to the school and not one yard further.

A WEEKEND NATION team spoke to residents living all around the school and the responses were the same: no one knows why the school is closed and no one is experiencing any adverse effects.

The Bowens live next to the school at Long Gap and have been doing so since 1979. Barbara Cordle-Bowen said health inspectors had been around inquiring about whether they were being affected by what caused the school to be closed for the term while the students were relocated.

“I wonder if they check the well there or it may be what the janitors cleaning with,” she said.
